Heidelberg University Library again on top position
At the recognized and appreciated ranking of libraries BIX 2009, the efficiency comparison of scientific libraries, the Library of the Heidelberg University – exactly as in the past year – reached the outstanding second place just following the University Library of Goettingen which has the advantage being as well State Library of Lower Saxony.
100 years of the Heidelberg Academy of Science
Heidelberg’s Karlsplatz – Charles Square – not only gives a great view of the Heidelberg Castle – it as well gives a view on to the imposing building of the “Großherzogliche Palais”, the Grand ducal palace, situated just in front of the castle. It was in 1717 under Carl Philipp Baron of Hundheim when the Darmstadt court architect Louis Remy de la Foss started erecting this aristocracy building. The two long story building in late barock style was changed into classicism style in 1843.

The SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg has been approved by the government and positions itself with more than 30 degree programmes within the departments Computer Science, Business Administration, Social- and Behavioural Science, Engineering and Architecture.
